About

Five years into making Google search work harder for real businesses.

I'm Samar Hayat, a technical and local SEO consultant based in Lahore, Pakistan. I work remotely with home-improvement brands across the UK and health, finance, and technology companies across the US, teams that need organic search to behave like a growth channel, not a mystery line item in a marketing report.

My work starts with a crawl, not a pitch deck. I've spent five years diagnosing why sites don't rank, broken redirects, orphaned pages, bloated JavaScript, thin location pages, and fixing the root cause instead of publishing more content on top of it.

How I actually got here

I didn't plan on becoming an SEO consultant. In 2020, I was helping a friend's small print shop in Lahore because their website had gone months without a single online order, and I genuinely thought it was a design problem. It wasn't. Their site had 40 broken links, no one had submitted a sitemap in two years, and half their product pages weren't even indexed by Google.

I fixed what I could find, mostly by trial and error and a lot of late nights reading Google's own documentation, and their orders tripled over the next quarter. That was the moment it clicked: most businesses aren't losing to smarter competitors, they're losing to their own broken plumbing. Nobody had ever actually looked.

Five years and dozens of crawls later, that's still the entire job: find what's actually broken, fix it, and show you the number that proves it worked. I've turned down clients who wanted a "quick fix" for a problem that needed a real one, because that never ends well for either of us.

SEO philosophy

Rankings are a byproduct, not the goal. I build sites Google can crawl without effort and users can act on without friction, the traffic and the ranking follow.

My approach, in four principles
01
Diagnose before prescribing

Every engagement starts with a crawl, not a recommendation. I don't propose fixes until I've seen the data.

02
Fix root causes, not symptoms

Duplicate content gets consolidated, not redirected around. Thin pages get rewritten, not padded.

03
Numbers over narratives

Every report ties back to traffic, rankings, or revenue, never a vague "improved visibility."

04
No dependency by design

You should be able to explain what I did and why. Documentation and handoff are part of every engagement.

Where I work with clients

Based in Lahore, Pakistan, working remotely and async with clients across time zones. Every call, report, and Slack thread happens on your schedule, not mine.

Beyond SEO

Outside client work, I write about crawl budgets and Core Web Vitals more than is probably healthy, and spend the rest of my time reading about urban planning, of all things, a habit that\u2019s made me better at thinking in systems and site architecture alike.
